These past few months have been tough on everyone – physically, emotionally, mentally – you name it, we’ve felt it. With a long road ahead of us to recovery, we decided it’s time for some healing. While you may not be able to have that spa trip you planned or the weekend getaway you’ve been craving, there’s nothing stopping you from indulging in a little self-care at home! Enter: the staycation.

We’ve compiled a list of the perfect quarantine staycation essentials. Whether your goal is to gain some mental clarity, to pamper yourself, to relax and unwind, or all of the above, these steps will have you covered.

Grab your fluffiest robe, put your vacation replies on, and get relaxin’!

 

Step 1: Set the scene. 

Your environment impacts your mood, so before you even start your staycation, make sure that you set your space up in a way that is calming and inspiring to you.

If you are in an environment that feels hectic or disorganized, chances are you’ll have a tough time getting relaxed, which is what this staycation is all about!

Perhaps a candle to set the mood? We’ve been loving Brooklyn Candle Studio! They’re soy-based, so they burn cleaner and longer, and they are free of toxins, cruelty, and are 100% vegan. And obviously, they smell amazing. What more could you ask for in a candle?

 

Step 2: Skincare.

Has anyone else’s skin taken a turn for the worse during quarantine?? Ugh.

It’s easy to neglect your skin when you have other things to worry about, but that doesn’t mean you should!! So, let’s start our staycation off with some skincare to rejuvenate it. Grab your mirror, pull your hair back with a cute scrunchie, and let’s get skin care-ing!

You know what’s best for your skin, but we’re here to point you in a helpful direction. We’ve been loving the Dermalogica skincare line, and here’s why:

Enough said. 

Wrap up your skincare with a soothing mask to seal the deal. Maybe even cut up some cucumbers and stick them on your eyes (we’re not here to judge). Remember, your goal here is to refresh, renew, and relax!

 

Step 3: Dive in & set goals.  

Now that you’re fully relaxed, and hopefully have a soothing face mask on, it’s time to look inward. Let’s get those good vibrations flowing!

One of the best ways to boost your mood is to journal and to set goals. Write out your hopes, your dreams, how you’re feeling, or whatever you need to just get out on paper.
