Q What is Microblading?
A: Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic that uses hair-thin strokes to provide a client with the optimal shape, color, density, and thickness of brows based on their personal preferences and what is complementary to their face. This provides a very natural look compared to permanent cosmetics and/or tattooing.
Q Who is it for?
A: Anyone! The best part about what we do is that it is versatile. Whether it is bold or the smallest adjustments we work together with our clients in our consultation to work together to find the most complimentary look for you.
Q Pricing
A: We have multiple artists at the shop with different price points. Please visit the “Services” or “Book Now” tab for additional information.
Q Before my appointment?
A: Get familiar with exactly what you are wanting out of your cosmetic tattooing. Whether that’s a picture you find from a magazine or a picture of you on your best makeup day. Or you can show up with nothing! Our artists are trained to work with you to find your best look even for the indecisive.
Q During my appointment?
A: An initial consultation is done where we will discuss the treatment in its entirety and together decide on the most complimentary shape, color, thickness, and density that you wish to have. The process is quick and near painless and we will keep you in the loop the whole time.
Q After my appointment?
A It is normal for there to be redness and slight swelling after your treatment. Nothing crazy, however you will feel a little sore. In the first 24 hours your cosmetic tattoo will become darker reaching its full intensity on days 1-3. Don’t stress as this is normal in the healing process. The treated area will also show more warmth in the color as the skin is healing.
Q TOO DARK, TOO LIGHT, JUST RIGHT
A It is VERY important to understand that the treated area will go through phases during your healing. Days 1-5 expect to feel slightly overwhelmed with the intensity of the color as well as the color might have a warm hue as it is healing. This passes quickly but is followed by a period where your pigment can disappear. Let me repeat, it is normal when your tattoo lightens even if it is completely gone. The skin is healing and regenerating and color will be truly evident around 4 weeks. Any adjustments after the first session will be handled in your enhancement session 6-8 weeks later.
Q Aftercare
A Blot with a damp cotton round every hour in the first 24 hours while you are awake. After that period you will be applying a healing balm 2-3x times a day for the first week. Minimal water, sweat, moisture or steam should be
avoided in the first 3 days (walking, light lifting, etc.) and intense water, sweat, moisture should be avoided for 2 weeks ( hot yoga, swimming, sauna, hot tub, etc). No picking or scratching during the healing process.
Q Long term Care
A Make the most of your investment. Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine. Glycolic acid, Retin-A and facial peeling products must be kept away from the treated area as continued use could lighten the pigment over time.
Q Permanent cosmetics vs. standard tattooing
A This is a semi- permanent cosmetic where we implant pigment very shallow in the skin which gives a natural look that allows you versatility going forward. Plus, no more filling in!
Q Combo vs. microblading
A When Microblading isn’t enough we utilize a method that incorporates machine work to add shading in between microblading strokes. This can give slightly more of a makeup look and can blend our work in with your natural hairs. If you are used to filling in your brows and love the look you might choose combination brows.
Q Powder vs. microblading
A Powder brows is a full shading method where we only shade the brows to imitate makeup. This is also a great method for those with oily skin.
Q How long does it last?
A This can vary from client to client. It can last from 12- 18 months with proper care. If needed there is a Color Boost session available at 6 months after your treatment to maintain freshness. Medications and face products can change the durability.
Q Why is it two sessions
A The enhancement session is 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment. This is to allow the brows to heal as well as to give the client time to get adjusted. At the enhancement session we will talk about if you wish to make any changes in regards to color, thickness, density etc. We will then touch up the brows according to any changes discussed.
Q Does it hurt?
A: A numbing cream is applied before and during the appointment to ensure that it is a comfortable experience. You will feel pressure and might feel it as a little scratchy.
Q How do we pick a shape/color
A We work together to find a shape that works for your face shape and coloring. I also ask to bring in pictures of brows that you like. As for the color, we will test multiple to find the best one that fits you. I am also able to mix pigments to find the perfect color that suits you. For your brow design we will follow your natural hair patterns to provide you with brows that look natural and complimenting.
Q Will it look natural?
A We can make it as natural as you wish it to be. Each service is tailored to your preferences and with our two sessions we will be sure to take it slow and stay conservative where needed.
Q Can I work out after?
A We recommend waiting 3 days for light exercise (light lifting, light cardio, etc.) and two weeks for intense sweating (swimming, hot yoga, intense cardio, etc.)
Q Can I get this done if I am pregnant?
A :We do not perform any cosmetic tattooing services on women who are pregnant.
Q Is the studio pigments and equipment safe?
A: Absolutely! We are registered and licensed artists and passed all safety inspections through the state. We use the highest quality products, implements, and techniques to ensure the best results.
