You guys, we found it. We found the solution to elevating even the quarantine-iest of quarantine outfits. Many of us have struggled in the past year with the dichotomy of wanting to be comfortable during our days at home, yet missing the days of dressing up and expressing ourselves through personal style. Trips to the grocery store have become excuses to don our cute outfit of the week, while our work day looks tend to err on the side of business on the top, loungewear on the bottom. The solution we speak of? Elevated, chunky gold jewelry.

Gold jewelry has been on the scene for a while, whether you’re sporting your fanciest dress and heels or your coziest sweatsuit and slippers, accessorizing is one of the best ways to take your look to the next level. If you’re just at the beginning of building your collection, we’ve come to offer advice on where to begin.

Let’s start with necklaces. Layered necklaces pair beautifully with pretty much any top. If you like more of a minimalist vibe, starting with one or two thin chains is probably enough. To add variety, try combining two different chain textures, such as a smooth herringbone and a chunkier cuban link chain. If you’re ready to dive into the deep end, try building a stack with bigger chains and pendants for dimension, such as a twisted rope chain, a paperclip chain, and a letter pendant. Even if you’re wearing the same sweatshirt every day (we totally get it, we’ve been there, and we support you), mixing and matching chain textures, weights, and lengths is an easy way to switch things up day-to-day.

Bracelets are a natural extension of necklaces. Matching your bracelet texture to that of your neck candy will instantly improve your look. You can layer your bracelets as well, giving a similarly textured look to the aforementioned necklace stack. A Cartier-inspired bangle will pop when paired with a delicate chain. If you’re feeling spicy, try adding a pop of color or a chunky toggle clasp

Next on deck are rings. Our first thought was to introduce rings as a subtle way to elevate your look but then we realized: rings do not have to be subtle! You can totally go the route of one or two delicate bands, whether it’s on one or both of your hands. Butttt if you’re in the mood to wow the crowds with your effortlessly cool style, why stop there? Add a bold cocktail ring for some shape and dimension, a ring with text on it for some personalization, and throw some stackers into the mix.

If all else fails or you aren’t in the mood to build a look around any of the above items, at least put some earrings in. Hear us out: earrings are the cherry on top of any look. You can see them above a mask, they’re the perfect pop of bling with any updo, and they take very minimal effort to look good. If you prefer a simpler look, a pair of gold hoops is your fail-safe. If you want more than a plain hoop, try an oval shape or a twisted pair. For those of you with multiple piercings, we love the look of huggies up the ear, whether they dangle, add some color, or wrap up your ear. The world of earrings is your oyster!
