If 2020 was anything, it was the year that bold brows made their full comeback. Celebs like Lily Collins, Cara Delvigne, Emilia Clarke and many others have ushered in a wave of thick, bushy brows. We’ve decided that this look is one that should definitely stick around in the new year. Alas, not all of us are blessed with naturally full brows, so we need a little help to achieve ultimate boldness. In the past we’ve talked about Soap Brows and microblading, and now we have a third option for you that’s somewhere in the middle: brow lamination.

Brow lamination is a great option if you want something that lasts longer than the day’s makeup, but isn’t as permanent as microblading. It’s a two step process that reshapes your brows so that they appear naturally fuller and more even. It’s like a perm for your eyebrows (minus the curls). Brow lamination helps fill in the gaps in your natural brows, so it’s a great starter option for those whose eyebrows are naturally on the sparse side. If your hair color is lighter, you can pair this process with a brow tint to darken them up. Lamination also leaves a “shine” effect that is sought after by many – it leaves your brow bones looking glowy and highlighted without all the product it usually takes to achieve a look like that.

Want to know how it works? First, your brows are brushed upwards and a lifting cream is applied. This cream is used to break down the hair bonds, which allows them to be reshaped more easily. Brushing them upwards helps lift them in a uniform, vertical direction. After this, your brows are brushed through with a neutralizing cream. This cream sets and reforms the hair bonds to their new, lifted shape. The last step is an oil treatment used to hydrate your brow hairs and prevent skin irritation. The whole process takes about an hour, and you’ll walk out the door with the brows of your dreams. Yes, it’s that easy!

For The Full Look. As we mentioned, brow lamination is often coupled with an eyebrow tint in order to achieve . You can also tweeze or wax the area a bit to clean it up. For the full treatment, you can schedule a Deluxe Brow service with one of our technicians.

How long does it last? Every brow is different, but lamination usually lasts up to 6 weeks. If you’re lucky, it can last for two months! Since the appointment time is so short, upkeep is incredibly easy and low maintenance. At our salon we offer basic brow laminations, a lamination and tint combination, or a delux option that includes lamination, a tint, and a wax to clean up the area.

As with many beauty services, brow lamination does require some extra care at home to keep your brows looking their best. It’s a good idea to continue conditioning and nourishing your brows in between lamination sessions. Oils or moisturizing creams are great options for keeping the area hydrated!

Let 2021 be the year that we all have the full, bushy brows we’ve always dreamed of. Whether you decide to fill your brows in daily, go with the long-term route of microblading, or pick the happy medium of brow lamination, we wish you a year of achieving your boldest brows yet!
