Love it or hate it, colder weather is coming. With the change in temperature often comes a myriad of skin problems – some people break out, others battle extreme dryness, while others struggle with textured skin. It’s important to prep your skin for the colder months for the transition (and your skin) is as smooth as possible. How, you ask? Meet our new bff, the chemical peel!

Chemical peels are a reset for your skin. Over time the cell renewal process in our bodies slows down and our skin tends to get duller. Peels help combat this dullness in a few ways: they reduce fine lines, help treat sun damage, improve the appearance of wrinkles and mild scarring, and reduce dark spots. Additionally, they boost the effects of your favorite skincare products – the chemical peel exfoliates the dead skin cells, exposing fresh, healthy skin that now allows your skincare products to really do their magic. Exfoliating the top layer of dead skin also sends a message to the cells beneath your skin to start producing more collagen and its natural hyaluronic acid. In case you missed our article on hyaluronic acid, one of its many benefits is that it makes your skin plumper and smoother! Look at this awesome example of the effects a peel can have!

There are many ways in which you can customize your chemical peel. Not everyone’s skin is the same, so it’s important to understand your options when getting treatments like these. You want to make sure that you communicate to your technician what issues you’re having, or what you want to prevent. (If you’re not sure what you need, we offer free skin consults!) There are chemical peels that can benefit every skin type and tone. You can target acne, aging, hyperpigmentation, dryness, dullness, and the list goes on. They can also be as gentle (or as aggressive) as you want. These peels are not a one-size-fits-all situation; take the time to figure out what peel is right for you!

They’re super helpful for the fall and winter. Because the air during these seasons is colder and drier, the moisture in your skin evaporates more quickly. It’s important to build up all of your skin’s defenses. With that being said, it’s important to note that chemical peels increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so at our shop we recommend them within a 6 month window in order to keep your skin safe. Lucky for you, now is the perfect time to book a series! We recommend booking in a cycle of 6, and we offer packages of 3 peels.

In case this wasn’t enough to win you over, here is what a few of our girls have to say about their chemical peel experience:

  • “I get blotchy freckling when I’m in the sun, and a 5 Berry Peel at the beginning of fall is my favorite way to kind of ‘reset’ after summer to get a nice glowy and even complexion. Plus I breakout less when I’m getting peels every other month or so!” ~ Ryanne
  • “I love them because it is truly a reset for your skin… You can target so many conditions specifically!” ~ Alyssa
  • “I love chemical peels because it is a great way to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin! What better way to start a new fresh season with new fresh skin?” ~ Emilee
