We’re back this week with another Look at Local! This week we picked a business that we recently partnered with, and we think you guys will love them just as much as we do. Plant lovers, you’re gonna want to stick around for this one.
We hosted a giveaway a few weeks ago for our birthday, and one of our amazing contributors was Thyme and Place SLC. They donated one of their gorgeous plants to our giveaway, and even we are jealous of the lucky winner. This store is so unique and is a fantastic local business to support. Without further ado, here’s why we love them so much:
Thyme and Place, if you haven’t guessed yet, is a locally owned and operated plant shop in the heart of Salt Lake City. Located just a few blocks from Liberty Park (and our salon!), Thyme and Place sells both indoor and outdoor plants, as well as containers and potting tools. In addition to carrying their own products, they support local artists and other decor and plantware brands. The experts there will also throw in some professional tips and tricks on which plants to get based on your lifestyle, and how to properly care for them.
Looking to find a community that shares your love of plants? Attend one of Thyme and Place’s Happenings, where you’ll have the chance to work on your own potting project. The theme changes week by week, and you’ll be surrounded by fellow fans of flora and fauna (say that five times fast). You’ll need to book tickets ahead of time, so be sure to follow their Instagram for updates on upcoming Happenings.
For the ultra-obsessed gardener, there is the First Dibs Club. Created for those who are constantly on the hunt for the plant of their dreams, the First Dibs Club offers members the chance to snag their perfect plants before anyone else even knows they’re available. Membership grants you a credit towards First Dibs plants, advanced notice of upcoming plant offerings, and the chance to purchase first. We highly suggest joining if you like your plants with a side of adrenaline.
We think that Thyme and Place is such a staple in the Salt Lake Community, and we’re so glad to be neighbors with them! They’re community-oriented, socially conscious, and they have a really cute shop dog named Bear. You can check out the Thyme and Place website here, or follow their Instagram here. Happy planting!
