If you’re as much of a makeup fanatic as we are, you probably get a huge thrill from watching the trends change with the seasons. Just like clothing trends, makeup trends shift with the time of year. While they don’t always fluctuate as quickly as fashion trends do, makeup trends are ever-evolving and are a great way to put a new spin on your signature look from time to time. 

 

The warmer weather brings about some of our all-time favorite makeup looks. Between TikTok, Instagram and even IRL, makeup inspo is abundant right now. With that in mind, today we are sharing our favorite makeup trends of the season! 

 

Bronzer is out (kinda), blush is IN. One of the biggest trends we’ve seen circulating this season is the shift from a heavily contoured face to a heavily blushed-up one. Rather than cutting out cheekbones and chiseling noses with a contour stick, many people are relying on blush to shape their face. You can use blush in so many different ways – to elongate, to plump, to shape – the list goes on. Go lighter on the bronzer this year, and give yourself a cute sunkissed glow (minus the UV damage)!

Powder is also out, cream is also in. Speaking of a shift in popular products, we’ve seen a big overall shift from powder products to liquid or cream products. Too many powders on your face can dry out your skin and leave you looking cakey, whereas cream and liquid products will give you a glowier finish. If you’re partial to the matte look, it’s totally fine to stick with powder products. However, you can never go wrong with a dewy look for the warmer months. You’ll look sunkissed and luminous, and no one will notice if you get a bit *ahem* naturally glowy, if you catch our drift.

 

And on that note, no more caking! If you’re rejoicing over the fact that the days of heavy layers of makeup are gone, you are not alone. Makeup-wearers everywhere have come to realize that a little bit often goes a much longer way than we once thought. Save your products and your skin by applying your makeup with a light hand. You can always build it up progressively!

 

We just checked and soap brows are in… still. We’ve been raving about soap brows for months now, and the hype still hasn’t died down. Make things easy by doubling up. In the spirit of simplifying (a theme which has been widespread across many routines this year), use one product for multiple purposes. In specific, we love seeing people use their blush or bronzer as eyeshadow. Or your favorite shimmered gloss matched as a perfect highlight. This pulls your look together really well and you can say with 100% certainty that your shades are matching. It creates a super natural, effortless look and will make your easy-to-do look pop!
